| In the past several weeks, a major collection of 356/911/912 Porsche sales and technical literature has been offered for sale on Ebay! Many interesting and rare items have been offered for sale and sold. Unfortunately, many of the interesting 356 literature items were offered "For Sale or Best Offer" and as a result, no sales price was reported in the "Sold" section of Ebay on sales where a sale was finalized at a negotiated price that was less than the listing price. |

03/16/13 This "Set of Documents for a Blaupunkt Frankfurt Radio" sold for $134.00US! Increasingly serious 356 Porsche owners are seeking to acquire the original documents that came with their cars when they were new. This set appeared to be complete and in good condition, and was a good score for the Buyer. (M&M N/A). |

03/15/13 This early "356 Pre-A Split-Window sales folder" sold on Ebay for $100.00US!, an extremely low price! What a steal for the Buyer! The folder even had a Canadian dealership stamp on the front cover adding provenance to the piece. This folder is probably worth much more than what was paid. (M&M 300 HB). |

03/11/13 This "356-B Workshop Manual & Supplements Set" sold on Ebay for $250.00US! Another steal for the Buyer! The 356-B Manual was published in October 1959 for Model Year 1960, and the Supplement has additional information for the 356-B T-6 and 356-C. A great manual set for anyone with a 356-B or C Porsche. Set should have sold for nearly twice this sale price in the condition noted. (M&M N/A). |

03/07/13 This "1500, 1600, 2000 Carrera 4-cam Engine Guide" sold on Ebay for $149.00US! The manual is in a ring binder with a slip-in cover. The same manual is often found without the binder. These manuals cover the 4-cam engine only. The rest of the car is covered in the regular factory workshop manual. There are lots of copies of this item on Ebay! This was a SMOKIN' Deal for the Buyer! 03/04/13 This "356-A Factory Workshop Manual and Supplement" sold on Ebay for $500.00US! The manuals appeared to be in nice overall condition. The workshop manual was the early version. Supplement was dated August 1958, a little pricey, but probably reasonable price for the set. (M&M N/A). |

Factory parts books contain a wealth of valuable information from part diagrams to factory part numbers to part descriptions in English, French and German. Of particular value are the descriptions of fasteners like nuts, bolts, and screws, in technical terminology. (M&M N/A). |

02/04/13 This "Ulmer Ceramic Plate" was one of several Ulmer plates offered by Porsche in the late 1950's and early 1960's as accessory adertising items available at your local dealership. Other items included such things as pen sets, key fobs, drink glasses, model Porsches, and ashtrays to name a few. 01/08/13 This "Gmund Brochure" sold on Ebay for $2,392.00US! This is a little more than half what it sold for in mid-November of last year. It is the first brochure published by Porsche and regularly sells for a very high price. For collectors, it may be the most sought after brochure that Porsche published. This is a fairly low price for this brochure. Inside there is a page of technical data, with many references to 356-A's, 356-A 1500 GS Carreras, and 550 1500 RS Spyders. The brochure often appears to be like the image below because that image is part of the brochure. The back page of the brochure is actually a four part folder of which the below image is a part. Depending on how this part of the folder is folded, either of these images may appear to be the cover. (M&M 109). |

I've only seen one other of these little folders and I was not sure what they were for except they were published by Porsche in 1959, and inside they have in color what appear to be designs for posters. The designs inside the brochure are square, and at first I though they might be designs for future sales brochures although all the cars pictured appear to be 356-A's. Marco Marinello of ElevenParts in Switzerland emailed to say: "These are large format diapositives (color slides) used for movie theater advertising. 10/1/08: This "356-B Red Coupe Brochure" sold on Ebay for the first time breaking the $100 barrier at $125.00US! This brochure is fairly common and there are several versions. One version has PORSCHE across the top right side of the brochure. There are also several edition dates. A very similar brochure was printed with a different graphic of the car. Both are nice items if you own a 356-B T-5. (M&M 163). |
