Below is a listing of Porsche 356-A Factory accessories as shown in an accessory brochure believed to be from 1956. The standard items are included, and some others rarely seen. Check out the James Dean looking guy in the photo of accessory QA 43. Unfortunately, not all items had photos in the booklet, but most that were included are shown here. The items included in this website are not for sale! They are presented here so that enthusiasts can learn what items were available and see what they look like.

1956 Factory Accessory Catalog:



1. QA 21  -  Foglights, amber lenses, bumper mounted ($26.20).

2. QA 21a  -  Foglights, amber lenses, body mounted ($26.20).

3. QA 23  -  Standard Coupe seats for Speedster ($28.60).

 


4. QA 24  -  8-day Clock, mounted in glove compartment door ($9.00).

 


5. QA 25  -  Trouble Light with cord, plugs into lower edge of instrument panel ($1.65).

 

6. QA 26  -  Sliding Roof ($155.00).

 

7. QA 27  -  Chrome Wheels ($59.50).

 

   In September 1957, Porsche announced a price reduction for chrome wheels, from  
 275DM to 250DM ($65 to $60), as described in
Christophorus #11, September 1957!

8. QA 28  -  Wheel Rings, finned & bolted to wheel (not for 15 in. wheels).

 

9. QA 29  -  Rear View Mirror, clips to driver's side front fender ($3.00).

 

 

Beginning May 1, 1956, German law required an outside rear view mirror, Christophorus #4 Engish, July 1956.


10. QA 31  -  Coco Mats ($6.20).

 

11. QA 32  -  Headrests, leather ($13.50 each).

12. QA 32a  -  Headrests, Leatherette & Corduroy ($11.50 each).

13. QA 32b  -  Headrests, Leatherette ($11.50 each).

14. QA 33  -  3 Band Radio with 2 speakers (AM/FM/SW).


Looks like a Blaupunkt.....not named in the accessory booklet!

In September 1957, Porsche announced that the Phillips "Paladin" radio could be ordered, upon request, from
the factory.
The "Paladin" radio had middle and long wave, and an automatic selector. At that time, Blaupunkt,
Becker, Wandel and Goltermann radios could be ordered as accessories from the factory,
although the latter
did not appear in the factory accessory catalogs. (Source:  Christophorus magazine, #11, September 1957).
